Since the title asks is PSO2? The sport has always looked interesting to me personally and I want to play it with the English patch but im wondering if its worth it to play now or if I should wait tell the English launch in 2020. Just a little background for my self ive played about every major mmo out there, im most seasoned in FFXIV, together with swtor being my second. Ive played items like GW2, ESO, Elsword, ArcheAge, Tera, and Runescape.
I have about 3000 hours at pso2 jp to preface. It’s an action rpg that is amazingly good, so if quick combat is your thing then this game is for you. If you’re looking for additional mmo features like enormous groups of gamers then you’ll probably be disappointed since the max party size at any time is 12, the only time you’ll find more gamers will be at the lobby where you are able to find a couple hundred at a time. But if you truly wish to play it you can also simply try it in the meantime; just be wary that account creation is a significant roadblock. You could see the anime that only releases last night to see whether you like the story as well, I thought it was really good!
Unless you have friends that are holding you hostage to perform the”global” version of PSO2 its best to at the minimum to take a look at the japanese versions. There’s generally a ton of catch-up mechanics and welfare gear while the game is grindy.
I really don’t believe the loot is really that grindy. Leveling up is decently grindy, particularly close to the level cap but you begin the endgame until the complete max degree and unlocking level cap raises are kind of there just for unlocking higher tier engame content. Do not play on the SEA server, however, it’s super p2w and though it has official English (Engrish) translation, it is terrible. Japanese does not have p2w components except the sub is beneficial.
(you may get few day duration vip cards out of accomplishments but it’s a whole lot easier if you don’t have to worry about this as”resource management”) If you want to play multiple courses optimally, you need to get an extra pet slot since you only get one free of charge. You can clear pretty much everything using a 0-stat pet but obtaining a stat boost is always very helpful. Most classes are coated with 2 pets (bodily / magical attack) but two of the classes get somewhat better stats with DEX though they can use phys or magic attack.
