Symptoms of Type 1 diabetes include excessive thirst, fatigue, slow-healing sores, itching skin, dry mouth, yeast infections, Blurred vision, Unexpected weight loss & increased urination.

Other reasons for same symptoms:

Other illnesses which has similar symptoms of diabetes are diabetes insipidus which as similar urination problem, fructosuria which has high sugar in urine, pancreatitis which is actually inflammation of the pancreas, glucagonoma which is a rare form of pancreatic cancer.

Diabetes Diagnosis in Children:

Diabetes can be diagnosed by Random blood sugar test, regardless of what the kid had, a blood sugar of 200 mg/dL or higher suggests that the kid has diabetes.

Glycated haemoglobin test also helps. It measures the percentage of blood sugar attached to haemoglobin.

Type of diabetes can be determined by many tests like C-Peptide, Glutamic Acid Decarboxylase Autoantibodies test, Insulin Autoantibodies test, Insulinoma-Associated-2 Autoantibodies (IA-2A), Islet Cell Cytoplasmic Autoantibodies (ICA) & Zinc Transporter 8 (ZnT8Ab).
