Prime Minister Narendra Modi may have done a good number of misdeeds before and after taking office. But, never did he end up making a mistake this catastrophic.
During his brief meeting with President Trump (two words that strangely do not fit together) in Washington, D.C. a few months back, Modi seemingly invited Ivanka Trump, advisor to the nepotist-in-chief, to headline the Global Entrepreneur Summit, which will take place in the last week of November in Hyderabad. Both father and daughter confirmed Ms. Trump’s visit, the former in his speech and the latter in this tweet.
“Thank you, Prime Minister Modi, for inviting me to lead the US delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in India this fall.” Ivanka Trump on Twitter
The summit began in 2010 by former President Obama (sigh!) in Washington, D.C. Hyderabad will host the eighth edition of the summit which is expected to see the likes of global entrepreneurs such as Mark Zuckerberg, Satya Nadella and Sundar Pichai.
While Ms. Trump has confirmed her appearance, one wonders if the recent political climate could change her mind, for better or for worse… mostly for better.
