FIDE World Chess Championship 2013




The World Chess Championship 2013, organized by FIDE and AICF, is sponsored by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Main partners of the most important chess event of 2013 are Hyatt Regency Chennai (hospitality partner), Delhi Chess Association (ticketing partner), and (global news partner).

DD Sports Channel will telecast two exclusive programmes as a prelude to the forthcoming Anand – Carlsen World Championship Match 2013 to be held in Chennai from 7th November 2013.

The Telecast will also be available in 48 countries including parts of Europe, Middle East and South East Asia on FREE TO AIR Platform of INSAT 3A satellite.       

Ticket Pricing Details:

VIP Box with a seating capacity for eight (on all days): Rs. 3.25 lakh;

 Daily tickets premium: Rs. 2,500;
 Season ticket premium: Rs. 26,000;
 Daily tickets Standard: Rs. 2,000;
 Season ticket Standard: Rs. 21,000;




  Schedule For WCC 2013:

                  The match will be played over a maximum of twelve games, and the winner of the match will be the first player to score 6.5 points or more. If the winner scores 6.5 points in less than 12 games then the closing ceremony will take place on the day after the World Championship has been decided or one day thereafter.

                  The drawing of colors will be conducted during the opening ceremony. The colors will be reversed after game six, i.e. the player getting white in game one will play game seven with black.


                  The time control for each game will be 120 minutes for the first 40 moves, 60 minutes for the next 20 moves and then 15 minutes for the rest of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds per move starting after move 61 has been made.
